Shop Review (Olde Country Gourmet - Stafford, Virginia): A favorite amongst wineries in Virginia, this Cabernet Franc is an earthy wine with complex aromas of black currant, strawberry jam, cloves, and almond with undertones of vanilla and oak.  Medium bodied with fruit in the mid-palate and a lingering full bodied finish. This Franc spent 19 months in French Oak, giving it silky smooth tannins and a classic spicy finish.

My Review: This wine was interesting and I wasn't too sure at first whether or not I liked it. The nose is somewhat strange because it is a mixture of fruit and a peppery scent. The wine was definitely smooth and you could tasted the berry but also a spicy flavor. They had small a appetizer that was a soft bread paired with olive oil and a peppery spice dip, which went AWESOME with the wine, and they recommended also pairing it with meat that was spiced for a similar effect.
