Name: Mendoza Station Reserva Torrontes
Variety: Torrontes - white wine
Region: Mendoza
Country: Argentina
Year: 2009
Price: $10
Online Review(via tastings.com): Pale golden copper with a faint amber cast. Super floral papaya and
custard aromas follow through on a round entry to a dry-yet-fruity
light-to-medium body with tangy nectarine and Key lime notes. Finishes
with a floral bath powder like fade. Intensely florid; pair with salads.
My Review: This wine has a slightly yellow color and the aroma reminded me of pear and honeysuckle plants. The flavors are similar to the aromatic description in that I detected tropical fruit and some citrus notes. The wine was slightly dry but had a light body and I enjoyed it with sushi, which actually made it taste creamier and very good. I read that guacamole is a good pair, and will definitely buy this wine again to try with other foods such as this.

ReplyDeleteTry a Torrontes wine if you can find one. They are perfect for the Spring, with huge stone fruit aromas. I am partial to Recuerdo's Torrontes
